This residue is harmless<\/strong> and is common to occur in stainless-steel products for kitchen use.\r\n\r\nAnkarsrum therefor recommend cleaning the bowl before its first use to get rid of any potential harmless residue. This prevents it from creating minor black spots on the dough knife at the first uses of the stainless-steel bowl.\r\n\r\nThis black residue that can occur is not harmful and can be removed by following the advice below.\r\n\r\nWe recommend that you before use:<\/strong>\r\n
    \r\n \t
  • Take a small amount of olive oil in the bowl and wipe it around inside the bowl.<\/li>\r\n \t
  • Let this sit in the bowl for a few minutes, and then wipe the oil out with a dry cloth.<\/li>\r\n \t
  • After removing the oil, wash the bowl with hot water and a good dish detergent.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nOR, if you prefer:<\/strong>\r\n
      \r\n \t
    • Use a mixture of lemon juice and salt, or a baking soda paste to clean the bowl.<\/li>\r\n \t
    • You will then be able to remove the residue safely.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nThese are booth food-safe alternatives that will clean your stainless-steel bowl if black residue occurs.\r\n\r\nClay Baker by Reston Lloyd<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nFIRST TIME USE:<\/strong>\r\nBefore using your Ankarsrum Clay Baker for the first time, fill the unglazed\r\nlid with water and let it sit for 30 minutes. After the long soak is complete, use a nylon\r\nbrush to loosen any clay dust particles left from the manufacturing\r\nprocess from both parts of the roaster.\r\n\r\nHOW TO CLEAN:<\/strong>\r\nAllow the Ankarsrum Clay Baker to cool completely before cleaning. Use\r\nliquid dish soap to clean the bottom, glass frit-lined section of the baker,\r\nand plain water to clean the unglazed lid.
