  • 2 ml vanilla bean ground from a mill or finely chopped; or 1 tsp vanilla sugar

Vanilla ice cream

Recipe for classic vanilla ice cream. Top with caramel sauce, sprinkles or your favorite.

    Before use

  1. Place the freezer bowl in the freezer, -18 ºC (about 0ºF), for 20-24 hours.

  2. Follow these steps

  3. Assemble the assistent with the beater bowl and the balloon whisks.

  4. Whisk egg yolks and sugar on medium speed until fluffy.

  5. Divide the vanilla bean and scrape out the vanilla beans.

  6. Mix milk, cream, vanilla bean + seeds and egg beater in a thick-bottomed saucepan and heat up to 85 degrees while stirring. The mixture should start to thicken a little.

  7. Put in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  8. Assemble the assistent with the ice cream maker.

  9. Pour the ice cream batter into the freezer bowl through the opening in the lid.

  10. Let the machine run at medium speed for 20-30 minutes until the desired consistency is reached.

  11. Eat right away, or put the freezeer bowl with the lid in the freezer and save for later.
