Ankarsrum Assistent Original Stand Mixer – Sunbeam Yellow

So excited! Just received my new Ankarsum Assistent and I could not be more thrilled and excited. I have my original Kitchenaid mixer for over 36 years and knew it was time for a change. The Ankarsrum meets all my requirements in the category of simplifying my life in the kitchen. Already whipped up some scrambled eggs with the balloon beaters and my eggs were light and fluffy! Cannot wait to try out my next project of mixing up a few large batches of cookie dough for an upcoming birthday party. I have been asked to contribute 6 dozen cookies!

I did quite a bit of research before deciding on this mixer. It’s one of those buy it right investments. I have been making sourdough by hand for almost 10 years but my joints are starting to wear just because of life things. That said…

Many people have mentioned a learning curve to use this machine and I think yes there is one. If you are intending to make bread and have been doing this by hand, you might find this mixer a bit more intuitive than someone who is just starting. Remember that with sourdough especially, you can run the machine probably a lot less than you think.

I have only had my machine for a week and have figured out quite a bit through three batches of sourdough. Make the roller your friend and learn to use rest periods the same as if you were doing intermittent stretch and folds.

I used my main bowl with the roller tonight for a family size batch of mashed potatoes. They turned out perfectly. They were thick and slightly chunky and not gummy at all. Same machine made my sourdough bread dough last night to bake this morning.

On top of all this, it’s an attractive statement in my kitchen.

I really like the Ankarsrum mixer. I researched on line and decided on it over K.A., Bosch and Ooni. I watched enough videos to be completely prepared on its arrival. There was no learning curve needed. The recipe book is terrific. The machine is handsome and powerful. The open bowl makes things so much better. I am very happy with this purchase so far.

I had a slight issue with my mixer and contacted customer service. They answered my email almost immediately! They were so helpful and we had the issue resolved the next day! So fantastic!
I also love my mixer! It is a tank! It is so strong a solid I know it is going to last for MANY years!

Fantastic on Day 1! I was a little intimidated to use it, but after watching a few Masterclass videos, I gave it a try. So easy & used-friendly! Bread making is going to be so much easier with this amazing mixer!

I love this mixer! My only complaint is that I wish I could male more than bread in the metal bowl. I wish there was a whisk attachment that I could use in the larger metal bowl compared to the smaller plastic bowl.

Hello! Saw this mixer yrs ago. Hesitated about spending. However, had it for about 2 months.
Struggled with sourdough for years! Carefully researched this product and decided it could handle higher hydration doughs; it does! The stainless bowl can go into dishwasher; ditto dough scraper and mixer. Really like it and helps make excellent bread. Have the red stand; use daily!

I love my Ank! I decided on Coral Crush to add a little happiness in the kitchen. For me, there really wasn’t a learning curve. I loved it from the first use. It’s a beast…a beautiful beast. I mill my own wheat berries, and Miss Annie Ank handles the dense dough fabulously!

Love my new Ankarsrum! First use and my bread dough was perfect. Second use, it perfectly whipped cream in under a minute. The only thing I don’t like is when using the plastic bowl with the center “tower,” it’s near impossible to manually fold in later ingredients. The tower is in the way. Other than that, this machine and its design is sheer genius.

Time will tell if this stands the test of…well, time, lol. So far, the ank has been nothing short of wonderful. It’s a luxury, and one that I am grateful to be able to afford. I have never been able to knead dough well, and have been baking gummy, dense bread my entire life (much to my family’s chagrin). Now, I bake almost every single day, and my kitchen is a source of joy instead of a place I make frequent mistakes in, lol.

The machine itself is heavy, sturdy, and wonderful. I wish the plastic cookie bowl were metal, because the metal cookie bowl that you can buy separately is hard to find. Other than that, it’s quiet, built well, and works amazingly. Simple to use, just trust the machine and let it work its magic. Watch some videos on how to use it so you’re ready when it arrives, and prepare to be amazed!!

Although the Ankarsrum is expensive, it is worth EVERY penny. I got this machine (coral crush color) to make larger amounts of bread I knew my KitchenAid could not handle. I watched numerous YouTube videos talking about the Ank and it was clear this was the machine for me. I made Pullman loaves recently and the mixer was amazing. The bread came out perfect (my first try ever at making bread, outside of a bread machine). The Ank outdid itself. I love this machine and look forward to more bread-making (and anything else I need to mix). Thank you, Ankarsrum, for creating a machine that lives up to its billing and customer service that’s second to none. You have me as a forever customer!

I looked at so many reviews and researched so many different mixers. I make lots of bread including sourdough and have always been a Kitchenaid fan. I had purchased a larger pro model from them and was super unhappy with the motor and its inability to even mix up a double batch of cookie dough without struggling. I had 2 other Kitchaid Tlt Stand Mixers for over 30 years, but I feel they are now inferiorly made. I finally decided that the Ankarrum was for me and took the plunge. I was super excited for it to come and ordered it out of my comfort zone in the sunny yellow. I am over the moon in love with it! I heard there was a learning curve but I have little to no issues with it! I have used the dough hook and the roller many times in the last week! I can’t say enough! It handled my sourdough quadruple batch without any problems! I am amazed! I cannot stop finding things to make in it, it’s so wonderful! And cleanup is a breeze! Wish I knew about this magic machine a long time ago! Thank you

This is a new appliance for me and so far I give this an A+. The learning curve I had read about is an easy curve. Making bread is much less labor intensive and making cookies an other treats is a breeze. This appliance is worth it

I’m in love with my ankarsrum. the machine is sturdy and extremely versatile -I use it several times per week making fresh milled bread cookies cinnamon rolls cakes. love the timer feature. I have purchased the attachment package and have made country sausage ground beef and homemade pasta and tonight I used the mixer for the first time wow it’s fantastic. I have been bragging so much about my ankarsrum my sister bought one too she very much liked hers as well

I bake with fresh milled flour and my other mixer struggled with bread. Fresh milled flour is a bit tougher on a mixer, but the Ank handles it exceptionally well. Whether you are making one loaf or many loaves, the Ank makes the BEST bread. My dough has never been so soft and supple. I love the way it feels in my hands when it’s done kneading. The open bowl is a dream for adding ingredients and seeing the progress of your dough. You can see and feel the quality of this machine and it’s pretty on my counter.

An unbelievable machine; one I’ve waited to own for years. The detail addition of the attached spatula is ingenious! My doughs and batters come out perfectly. I enjoy baking so much.

I love this product. My husband purchased it for me, for my 70th birthday. I have rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, and it helps me tremendously. It truly is a wonderful kitchen assistant! I am a professional chef for over 40 years. i bought the ankarsrum machine for my home. it is the best machine i have used for making breads. very easy to use i would highly recommend it

I absolutely love my Ankarsrum for making bread. There are plenty of accessories you can buy and so many things it can do. It is so much more durable than any mixer I have owned in the past. I would have given five stars but I feel it is lacking on instructions on how to use the various attachments.

The machine is worth it. The other name brands don’t come close once you purchase and utilize this. It works at a commercial level when it comes to getting the job done in a consumer grade body and capacity. I would highly recommend it to anyone that can afford it.

I simply love my new Ankarsrum mixer. I’ve used it several times for both bread and cookies. So easy to use and produces the most wonderful results. Breads rise high and are so soft and cookies turn out just right. I’m so glad that I bit the bullet and finally invested in one.
