I see that there are sparks inside at the motor. Is that normal?

The sparks you see at the motor when looking in at the blender port is all normal. They’re caused by the carbon/brush and the commutator and will most likely decrease once ”trimmed in”. Do not worry for them to wear down and need replacement. Our machines are built to last.

The only reason for caution is if something has leaked in to the motor. Then we recommend to send in the machine for replacement of the motor.

Why does the machine keep stopping?

This may be because the digital overload protection has been triggered. Set the machine to “Off” and then start the machine up again. If the machine is subjected to heavy loads, one way to deal with this is to increase the speed slightly. The machine can also switch itself off if the thermal cutout is triggered by the motor getting too hot. The machine then needs to rest a while before it can be used again. If you have been running large volumes in it, with quite a lot of resistance, you need to switch the machine off and wait for a few minutes.

How does the motor cool down? Does it need to “rest”?

The motor cools down through air intakes and air outlets in the base of the machine. It is important that these are kept free. The machine can switch itself off if it is subjected to a very high load. The digital overload protection switches it off. This is controlled by a digital motor control with speed feedback. Set the machine to “Off”, and start again. If the machine is subjected to heavy loads, one way to deal with this is to increase the speed slightly.

How should I store the different parts so that they last as long as the machine?

Avoid storing plastic parts in sunlight. This can dry the material out and shorten the part’s service life. Although many accessories and parts are dishwasher-safe, washing them by hand and wiping them dry afterwards is gentler on them.

Why are there two power outlets?

The power outlet that is used most is connected to the extremely efficient gearbox, making the machine extremely powerful. To this you can attach the bowl, the mincer and the vegetable cutter. This power outlet has a rotational range of approximately 40-140 (40-190, 120v) revolutions per minute. The power outlet on the side of the machine is for the blender jug when you lay the machine on its side. It is powered directly from the motor, and rotates at between 3,500 and 12,000 (16,000, 120v) revolutions per minute.
