Ankarsrum recipe

Ingredients

  • 330 g dried chickpeas
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic (optional)
  • 50 g of parsley or cilantro (or half of each)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 4 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 60 ml olive oil for the baking pan

Falafel

Make your own falafel with our Mincer. Serve with taco bread, veggies and hummus!

    Preparations

  1. Soak the chickpeas in water at least 12 hours before you use them

  2. Follow these steps

  3. In a bowl: add the soaked and drained chickpeas, chopped onion, minced garlic clove, chopped parsley/cilantro, salt, black pepper, cumin and coriander

  4. Stir the ingredients with a wooden spoon

  5. Assemble the Assistent with the mincer attachment and the 4.5 mm disc plate

  6. Mince the chickpea-mix

  7. Add sesame seeds and olive oil. Mix ingredients to combine.

  8. Turn on the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place a deep baking pan with 60 ml olive oil in the oven’s middle rack

  9. Shape the falafel into patties (use approx. 2 tbsp of the mixture)

  10. When oven is pre-heated, carefully remove baking pan from oven. Place falafels in the pan, brush them with the olive oil from the pan. Bake for about 10-15 minutes.

  11. After 10-15 minutes, carefully remove pan from oven, and gently flip the falafel. Place back in the oven and bake for another 10 minutes.

  12. After 10 minutes, remove falafel from oven. Transfer patties to a paper towel to absorb an excess oil.
